Nashua Dolphins is the domestic South African team that represents the KwaZulu Natal Cricket Team. They take part in the ongoing Super sports domestic competitions. Their performances in the MTN Domestic Championship and Standard Bank Pro20 have been remarkable. They are based in the Sahara Park Knigsmead, Durban which has a rich history of cricket.

The first ever test match was staged in Kingsmead was in 1923. In the decade of 1980s extensive renovation was done and brand new stands were constructed on the Umgeni End and Old Fort Road End. But the old main Grandstand still reminds of the glorious test matches played in the past. The stadium currently has a capacity for 25000 fans. As the pitch is laid slightly below sea level, due to rise in water tide in evenings bowlers find a lot of swing to trouble the batsmen.

Their skipper is Ahmed Amla, brother of South African International Hashim Amla, who is a middle order batsman and also contributes with his leg spinners. Other prominent batsmen include veteran HD Ackerman, Hashim Amla and Imran Khan. The real strength of Dolphins lies in their bowling attack with Johan Louw and Yusuf Abdullah being the new ball spearheads. Johan Louw was especially successful in the recent domestic season and is all set to join the Proteas. Abdullah is a quick left-arm fast bowler who surprises batsmen with quick and accurate yorkers and bouncers. Right Arm medium pacer Alfonso Thomas is also an economical bowler and gives little freedom to the batsmen.

Nashua Titans are the domestic giants in South Africa and are the current champions of the domestic Pro Twenty Series. Titans represent the Northern and Eastern first class teams in South Africa. Their home grounds are Super Sport Park, Centurion and Willowmoore Park, Benoni. One of the major advantages that teams from South Africa hold is that they are hugely in Twenty 20 format unlike teams from Indian premier leagueand Sialkot Stallions from Pakistan

Their skipper Pierre Joubert is a 30 year old veteran all-rounder who rallies his troops well. Coach Ricgard Pybus is young and experienced coach who has exposure of working for International sides and is known for his innovation.

The responsibility of batting rests on the shoulders of AB de Villiers who is an explosive South African batsman. Other South African International players are Paul Harris, Dale Steyn, Morné Morkel and Albie Morkel. Indian Cricket League is on one hand is entertaining thousands of Cricket lovers fans of india and the world but on the other hand there is a new controversy about its legality and acceptance. The fact is People love Twenty 20 Format of the game and ICC must adjust ICl somewhere.

But the big hurdle is BCCI and Lalit Modi who is also member of ICC board, and creator of IPL and he is apposing hard to stop ICL from gaining more attention and Endanger popularity of IPL.

In his recent interview Lalit Modi said: ” Recognition comes with a lot of caveats and with lot of conditions and lot of rules. I do not think this particular tournament (ICL) would be able to adhere to those conditions. If you look at a window, where is the window at the end of the day? We are having a tough time ourselves at the BCCI,”

So question is about Future of Indian cricket league, It’s gaining popularity and BCCI and ICC must sattle it somewhere to clear the sky for Twenty 20 league.

Sialkot Stallions is the only team from Pakistan that will feature in the inaugural Twenty20 Champions League staring from December 3, 2008. Sialkot Stallions founded in 2002 are the current champions of the RBS Twenty20 Cup, formerly known as the ABN-AMRO Twenty20 Cup. The Stallions have dominated the domestic Twenty 20 competition for the last three years and have won the Twenty 20 title for three consecutive years.

The Pakistan Captain and flamboyant all-rounder Shoaib Malik is the skipper of the Stallions and has a pivotal role in their success as he makes solid contributions in all the three departments. Their coach is Azmat Rana who is a former cricketer and keeps the whole squad together. Their squad contains many talented young players including some players who have played for the National side.

Players that could catch the eye of the world in the upcoming Twenty 20 Champions league are left arm spinner Abdur Rahman, left arm fast bowler Sarfraz Ahmad, all-rounder Mansoor Amjad, and middle order batsman Qaisar Abbas. Abdur Rahman has already displayed his talent while playing for Pakistan in series against West Indies and South Africa. Although, Rahman may have played few matches at the International level but he has been around for quite a while and has a steady head over his shoulders.

Left arm pacer Sarfraz Ahmad like Sohail Tanvir, bowls with an awkward action and often perplexes batsmen who are not accustomed to facing him. With the new ball in his hand he can be a destructive weapon while he also has a knack of clearing the ropes as a late-order batsman. As an unknown commodity Sarfraz Ahmad could be a surprise package that may be more than handy. All-rounder Mansoor Amjad is also a talented young lad who also featured for Pakistan in the under-19 World Cup. Apart from being a useful middle order batsman, he can bowl useful leg spinners and turns the bowl a long way.

Sialkot Stallions are currently ranked in the second spot just behind the Victoria Bushrangers in the International Twenty 20 rankings. Stallions faced a major set back as last year many of their stars joined the Indian Cricket League. These names include Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Imran Nazir, Shahid Yousaf and Tahir Mughal; after their departure the Stallions have lost some of their strength but with a young squad and an intelligent skipper Sialkot Stallions will be a tough force to reckon with.

Although, much attention has been paid to the two teams entering from the first season of IPL, two extremely talented teams from Australian domestic cricket will also feature in this earth shattering event.

Victoria Bushrangers representing the Australian state of Victoria is the current champion of the domestic Twenty20 competition in Australia. The history of cricket in Victoria is probably as old as the history of Australian cricket. Over the course of years this state has produced many all-time greats of cricket in Australia.

The Victorian Bushrangers have a magnificent track record in domestic Twenty20 competition as they have won all the three titles of the ‘KFC Twenty 20 Big Bash‘ with dropping only one game in doing so. As for the longer version they are way ahead of the rest of the lot with 26 Sheffield Shield titles and 4 One-day Competition titles as well.

Victoria Bushrangers have got many explosive cricketers that are simply built to play in this version of the game. Their coach is Greg Shipperd while their current skipper is hard hitting Australian all-rounder Cameron White who can also be useful with his leg breaks in the middle overs of the innings.

Australian middle-order batsman Brad Hodge is the vice captain of the team who also provides solidity to the batting department. Other players to keep an eye on are David Hussey, Chris Rogers, Aiden Blizzard, Shane Harwood and Peter Siddle who recently made his International debut against India in the third test match. The Victoria Bushrangers contain many players who have had exposure to International cricket and know of what it takes to perform on the big stage.

It is a widely accepted fact that the best standard of domestic cricket is in Australia and it shows whenever their National side shows up on grounds all over the world. With the Victorian Bushrangers being currently ranked in the top spot in the International Twenty 20 rankings just edging over the Sialkot Stallions, their side is sure to provide high quality entertainment to the cricket fans. While this excellent fielding side will also pose tough challenge to all the other top Twenty20 sides.
